A celebrity wedding photographer dishes on the wedding trends you can incorporate into your big day.

If in the past few months, you’ve found yourself immersed in the alluring world of flawlessly captured wedding photographs of your favourite B-Town celebrities, allow us to introduce you to the man behind this cultural phenomenon – Siddharth Sharma.  Originally an engineer, Sidhharth’s journey into wedding photography began as a hobby and eventually led to the establishment of the much-loved wedding photography and film studio - House On The Clouds.  From Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor to Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra, and most recently the engagement ceremony of Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha – Siddharth’s contemporary approach to creating visual stories for weddings is what makes him a huge hit among couples looking to capture their big day in a unique and special way, transforming moments into everlasting memories.  “Each wedding is a unique celebration, brimming with its own special moments, and it is an honour for me to be present and capture them as they unfold. From the intimate exchanges during the wedding rituals to the spontaneous interactions between the couple and their loved ones, I aim to preserve every precious moment through my lens in a way that allows the couple to relive their special day and treasure those memories for a lifetime,” he says.  In an exclusive conversation with Femina, Siddharth sheds light on his journey, the growing influence of celebrity weddings and upcoming trends to watch out for. Get ready to take notes!  1. How did you develop an interest in celebrity wedding photography? Can you share your journey and any significant experiences you've had?  It all began with my unwavering passion for weddings. Every element, from the raw emotions to the fleeting moments and lasting memories, has an irresistible allure over me. My goal has always been to create photos and films that people can watch years down the line and still feel the same freshness and nostalgia as if it just happened yesterday. To achieve this, I am dedicated to continuously pushing the boundaries, experimenting, and embracing contemporary approaches in my work. I strive to create wedding films that not only document the occasion but also encapsulate the couple's emotions, the atmosphere, and the essence of their special day. The result is an immersive cinematic experience that resonates with viewers long after the wedding bells have faded, evoking a timeless connection to the celebration of love and unity.

Have celebrity weddings influenced the growing demand for professional photographers dedicated to capturing special moments at weddings?  In India, cricketers and actors hold immense influence, and when they share their wedding photographs, it has a significant impact on the expectations and preferences of people for their own wedding images. This trend has contributed to the increasing respect and recognition of wedding photography as a highly regarded and in-demand profession.  3. What key factors should individuals consider when searching for a wedding photographer for their special day?  Each couple's wedding photos should be special and meaningful. It's essential to find a wedding photographer whose work you really connect with. Select a photographer whose aesthetic appeals to you after doing some research. Once you've chosen a photographer, have faith in them and give them the freedom to try new things. They will capture genuine moments and offer photos that accurately represent you. Your wedding photos should be a true representation of you two as a couple, evoking sentiments that will last a lifetime. 4. Are there any emerging styles you see gaining popularity in the upcoming wedding season?  We predict that the classic and ethereal film aesthetic will remain a popular option for wedding photos in the upcoming seasons. Our introduction of this classic light and airy style through our Ibtida banner has seen a remarkable surge in demand, with a majority of our clients preferring this aesthetic. Furthermore, this shift in preference has also influenced the work of other photographers, highlighting the growing demand for this particular style in wedding photography. 5. Tell us about a particularly memorable celebrity wedding you've photographed and why it was significant to you personally and professionally.  Unfortunately, I can't pick one personally because all weddings are completely different and dreamy in their own way. Professionally speaking, capturing Luv Ranjan and Alisha Vaid's wedding marked our first experience capturing a celebrity wedding. However, Alia and Ranbir's wedding holds a special significance as it was the first celebrity actors' wedding we had the privilege of documenting. Despite our eight years of experience in wedding photography, their wedding allowed us to expand our reach and connect with a broader audience. Also, the love we got for our work at Alia's wedding was overwhelming for us.

6. Finally, what advice would you give aspiring photographers just starting out?  When pursuing a career in this field, dedicate at least five years to learning and honing your craft. Despite the sacrifices it may entail, give it your all and keep the learning curve alive.
